Packaging Tips

Learn how to properly package items to ensure safe and efficient delivery with Runcimans Cargo.

Choosing the Right Materials

Packaging your items securely is essential to ensure they arrive at their destination in perfect condition. Start by choosing the right materials. Sturdy cardboard boxes are a must for most items. Make sure the box is new and free from damage. You can reinforce it with packaging tape to ensure it doesn’t come apart. For fragile items, consider using bubble wrap, foam peanuts, or air pillows. They provide extra cushioning and protect against shocks and vibrations. Additionally, you might want to use multiple layers of protection for particularly delicate items. Our drivers have straps and blankets to help secure the goods when in transit.

Securing and Labelling Your Package

After choosing the right materials, the next step is to securely seal your package. Use strong packaging tape and apply it along all seams and edges. It’s also a good idea to reinforce the central part of the box to prevent it from bursting open. Once sealed, properly label your package. Clear and accurate labelling is crucial. Ensure the recipient’s address is correct and legible. Including a return address can also be beneficial in case there are any delivery issues. We always obtain a Signiture and photos at collection and delivery and can provide these to the customer when the delivery is complete.

Special Considerations for Different Services

Depending on the service you choose—Same Day Delivery or Next Day Delivery, there may be additional considerations to keep in mind. For Same Day Delivery, time is of the essence. Ensure your package is ready and properly labelled to avoid any delays. For Next Day Delivery, while speed is still crucial, you have a bit more time to ensure everything is perfectly packaged. Runcimans Cargo has extensive experience in handling consignments of all extents and can guide you through the process to ensure smooth delivery.
